Skybar, Traders Hotel Malaysia

Okay there is a pool side bar in Traders Hotel Malaysia.
It's a pretty neat place for mingling and just to enjoy the night.
I'm very sure that only Malaysia has Skybar cause I went to a Traders somewhere in China and I kept looking for the Skybar but I didn't manage to find....
If there are from other countries please do tell.

Anyways Skybar is just a bar at the roof of the hotel, next to the pool with a beautiful night view of KLCC and the Maxis Tower. To get a nice seat to enjoy the view, usually you would have to reserve a seat.

Thats a very enthusiastic smile from me..

Recently I went there with my sisters after the wedding I posted a few days back.
Enjoyed the evening, the drink and the atmosphere.

Only problem with Skybar is the price. The prices feels more like acid eating through your wallet.
IT BURNS.............

That night, we ordered some Long Island-on-steroids drink.
It was good to share among 3.

Food - Well they don't really have food besides burgers and stuff. According to my friend, the burger is damn nice but damn expensive. They also have complimentary nuts. Which is a good side snack.

Price - Be prepared to cough out some cash. A minimum of RM30 over for a cup of whatever. They do have large sized drinks which are good for sharing among a few people.

Service - Well usually it is pretty good but that day it was just soso. Friendly people, I can tell you that.

I rate thee - 9/10 for atmosphere & view, 3/10 for price and 7/10 for everything.

Signing off,
Justin.L

"only breaths apart"

I'm sure all of us have been in a situation where we want something so much..
so so much,
that is directly in front of us, that is just out of reach,
maybe by a hair's breadth or by a mile,
where the only thing to say would be
"so close yet so far".

iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation Review

So recently my dad acquired a Apple iPod Shuffle 3rd Gen..
so it sorta fell into my hands so after a few days of fiddling with it....

Here is my review for it.

Clearly people would only get if for the size of the iPod Shuffle. Being so small, you will barely notice it there plus for the sound quality of the Apple earphones.
Feels like a personal radio, since you can't pick the songs you want next. You can just next it.

Grind My Gears - Call Operators

Okay this post is to the call operators in my country and not to those helpful call operators elsewhere
If you are a helpful call operator then just be aware of how idiotic a small number of others are...

My BenQ laptop battery is not charging for some reason so I checked with the Online Center.
According to them, its a battery malfunction. So they told me to call the toll line.
So I called.

Toll Free > Some service center > Some other center > Service center.
wth?

Here is the convo with the operator. Here is how it roughly went.

me - Hi, I have some laptop issues. My battery has malfunctioned. I would like it fixed.
operator - Hello, oh would you like to speak to a technician?
me - No, it is just the battery. Since my laptop is under warranty I would like it changed.
operator - Would you like to send it in?
me - Yes I want to send it in.
operator - *keeps quiet*
me - Hello? Am I suppose to drop it off or will someone pick it up since it is still under warranty?
operator - Is there anything else?

She hasn't even answered me yet....
Apparently they check the warranty according to the manufacturing date. WTF?
Its not like we can buy the laptop right on the day it is made...

Grinds my gears.....

The newlyweds

Weddings are such happy places.
The bride and groom on their special day,
The parents heaving a big sigh of relief,
Relatives gathering from high and low,
and kids running around.

Congrats Darryl & Bee Gin

Well recently I attended a childhood friend/ family friend...
Okay someone close to us le. He got married and I was there as the wedding car driver.
My plans to drift with them in the car didn't really quite work out as I planned but all was good and smooth sailing.

I brought my camera there hoping to learn from the more professional photographers but sadly I was wrong cause I met one of those cocky " I have a Canon L lens and you don't/ My lens is bigger than yours" people.
Don't you just hate it? We're all just learning so don't be so cocky.

Dragon that fly, Geddit geddit?

Well another short photography tip or lesson..whichever way you wanna look at it..
Again I have put the Crop Feature to good use.

I saw a Dragonfly on my car antenna, so this was what I did.
Gear - Canon 500D & Canon 50mm 1.8

  1. Set the camera to AV/Aperature Mode and to the largest megapixels.
  2. Find the focus.
  3. Get to a close distance with the target and take at least a few shots.
  4. Slowly start moving forwards towards the target while shooting.
  5. If the end result ain't as macro as it seems, find a good picture and crop it.
  6. You will get something pretty good.

Hope you find this useful.

SLASH in NYC

What is this post about? I'll tell ya.

The Legendary, rated #2 'Best Electric Guitarist Of All Time' by Time Magazine, Ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist, the Riff Lord, Slash! and yes! He was here, on the 14th of September in New York Citayy! And I attended.

If you don't know this man, one of the original founders of the legendary hard-rock band Guns N' Roses. And if you don't know Guns N' Roses, then at least you must've heard their infamous songs, Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, November Rain and Sweet Child O' Mine. And if you haven't, then go crawl back into your cave and stay there.

Right, the show. Starts at 7pm, I camped there from 3pm till the doors opened at 6, raced to the front of the stage, unfortunately between two fat people, who sandwiched me a couple of times during the show.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole Movie Screening by Advertlets & Warner Bros.

Hey!!
Advertlets are giving out a pair of Screening Tickets to Legend of the Guardians:  The Owls of Ga’Hoole Movie.
Wanna find out how to get them?

Okay so my favorite owl out of the many many owls out there would have to be the Australian Masked Owl.

From its physical appearance alone is freakishly attractive yet mysterious.
It is exactly like a character from a fictional movie. Some dude behind a mask.
Either wise and powerful or crazy and murderous.

The Australian Masked Owl is well known as the Mouse-Owl as mice are part of their diet.
So technically I'm pretty sure they have them in Malaysia too! At plantations perhaps.
Would be a little scary to see a face like that at night tho..

Just a pretty random fact but did you know that owls can turn their heads 270 Degrees in both directions?

It would be pretty cool if Zorro wore a mask like this.
Sad thing is that due to deforestation, their numbers are dwindling. So dear aussies, please stop cutting down trees.

The majestic night hunter. Man's friend, mice eater.

Happy Birthday Mei Li!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Sayang Mei Li!!

Yes people this is my sayang Bubu!~

I've known her for 8 years since I was in primary 6.
One of the first few people I've really grown close with and probably one of the only people living nearby me.

I can pretty much talk about anything with her from total junk to pretty serious heart to heart.
Very fun and adorable.
Super athletic. Got like loads of gold medals at home and she goes for Sukma and stuff.

Glad to have met you and hopes to continue being random~

Happy Birthday bff, Time Crisis partner, JJ arcade kaki, lepak kaki, camwhore kaki, kap lui kaki, playa kaki and perhaps every other thing we have done~

Hope you like the present and see this is a blogging post!!

Celebrated her Bday with a surprise party at RedBox Sunway yesterday.
Totally pwned her *proud proud*
She had no clue~

A very big thank you to her friends and her mom for being so nice to help keep everything secret and make it work. ^^

Gotcha!~

Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D

Well thanks to Nuffnang again, I managed to watch another movie before the opening day~

Anyways, since I don't really know the story of Resident Evil,
I just sat through the movie knowing that some hot chick is gonna be killing zombies..
Woot woot!!

Synopsis - Alice is back and revenge is what she seeks. After taking down Umbrella Corp. in Japan, she moves on looking for the sanctuary which Claire and the rest has gone to. Expecting to find a thriving community free from the T-Virus, Alice's hopes came crashing down to what she discovers.

My Review - First off, the 3D parts of the movie, even though some parts are not necessary, they are cool. Really is the next generation of 3D technology. Only thing bad about it is the 3D gave me this huge headache afterwards. Its quite strain full on the eyes and  the brain. Worst of all is, THE WHOLE MOVIE is in 3D. So imagine how big of a headache that is. Action scenes are good but well doesn't really have storyline le.

I Rate Thee - 7.5/10

Okay so if you still haven't seen the trailer yet, here it is!

Grind My Gears - School rules

Recently there was an article in the local papers which showed 2 pictures of kids fighting in school.
The article mentions of how there were videos of those fights on youtube.

Obviously this caught my eye and I read on.
After some description of the fight, it was the school's turn to answer and the principle said

  • suspend fighting kids - Correct
  • give demerit points to those who recorded the fight - wtf?
Okay here is what I don't get.
The principle said he wasn't aware of such fights going on and now he says he gonna punish everyone.

Dude those kids just brought light to some issue you didn't even know of...
I know how many many schools don't allow kids to bring phones and cameras to school saying that its a distraction and yet clearly there are bigger things to worry about..
I know school rules aren't suppose to be broken but when it doesn't make sense I don't think it applies at all...

Clearly the principle is more worried about his school's image than his own students.
Grinds my gears..

Chillax, Wisma E&C

Well since I haven't updated my blog
plus this is a food post. Which has been a while.

Chillax is actually around my college there. So usually it is filled with college students but during lunch hours,
some office people would be there.
There are different Specials everyday. I totally love the Chicken Burger and the Chicken Terriyaki. Damn good stuff.

Prices is around rm10 per dish.
My friends and me call their burger the fatty juicy burger.

Food  - Tasty and filling. The lime juice and lemon juice are real kickers. Strong stuff. Refreshing blast at times.

Price - It is moderate compared to some places. The Burger set is pretty good since the patty is fat. Rocks~

Service - This totally depends on what time you are there. During rush hour, you gotta wait and cause it is run by a family with a few helpers, they can be a little slow.
